"I will give you the money" I said immediately and she was so happy. We continued eating. I liked her already but what made me hesitate to declare my intention was this cleverness she was portraying. After eating she asked me what next. I sat there looking at her. "What is it?" She asked me. "Should I give you the money now?" I asked. She became nervous. "No need to rush it Eze. You do it when you feel like" she spoke. "And what if I never feel like, will you still be my friend?" I asked and she became angry. "I didn't ask you for the money in the first place Eze. I just complained to you but if you are seeing me as being desperate then never mind. I will sought it out myself"
She started crying pitifully. I guess she was acting for me. She didn't know I'm a better actor. One thing I hate to do is to condemn someone. For the fact that I was already falling in love with Gold was enough reason for me to stand and correct all that attitude of hers and still make her mine. She needed to understand that love is first in my dictionary and every other thing will follow. I loved Gold but Gold was trying to be clever. "And Gold, is that a name?" I asked her. "What do you mean?" She became angrier. "Gold is not a name. Are you an Igbo girl, Yoruba girl or Hausa girl? Where are your parent(s) living and where does that your kid brother school?" I asked all at once...
