EPISODE 1

Nneka was a girl of sixteen who had just finished her secondary school education. She was the first issue of a family of three children; two girls and a boy.

Nneka's father was a palm wine tapper and her mother; a petty trader. They managed to train their first daughter, Nneka up to secondary level. Though it was a hard nut to crack. They believed that if they trained her she would help in training the rest.

They loved their children and wanted the best for them.

Her father told her to write UTME which she wrote and scored 318. Her parents were happy.

As a result of a wonderful score, her mother discussed with her father about Nneka furthering her education. There was no money to do so but they finally agreed that she gets a degree in the university.  Therefore they told their daughter to prepare because she will also be taking the post utme of the school she chose during her jamb registration. She tried to decline because she didn't want to go and finally drop out thereby making the already spent money useless but her parents assured her that such won't happen. Finally she gave in.

During the time of her exam she fell ill but still managed to write and score very well. Her mother was so elated.

Nneka came to her parents to inquire from them how the money would be raised since it was certain her name would come out on the admission list. They told her they had decided to sell some of their lands so as to train her in school. She didn't like the idea of using almost everything they had on her. However her mother came and sat beside her telling her that they were doing all that so that she could study, graduate, get a job and start helping the family with its need.

Just as they believed their daughter's name will be on the admission list, so it was. They did every necessary thing and Nneka went to school. She was now an undergraduate of nursing in her school. Before she left, her mother reminded her the purpose behind her going there. She urged her to always bear that in mind.

Nneka studied very hard to get high grades and make her people proud.  She wasn't paying attention to any sort of distraction.

During her second semester exam in her third year, her father died. He fell from the tree where he was tapping palmwine and died instantly. Nneka was now at the verge of dropping out of school...
