Inside the dungeon, Dike's mother, the seer was seated on the dirty floor, with her long tick hairs covering her beautiful face. Onwem tried talking to her but she ignored her.
"What has happened oh priestess of the land. Has the son of the soil, Dike left for his journey. Is our king so cruel that he had to imprison his mother? Onwem cried.
For the first time Nneoma looked up to her face and gave her a smile. Onwem knelt beside her.
" I know that the great seer doesn't want me to near her son. I know that you forbid me to love your son but great mother, I mean no harm. People call me Onwem because he called me Onwem. I want to be his strength and his consolation. Please I beg for your mercy" Onwem was in tears as she knelt.
Dike's mother looked at her beautiful face and smiled again. " my daughter, she began. I know your pains. But what I see while sitting down, you can't see it even when you climb the Abiam Sacred iroko Tree. My son's journey has just begun. You will be his distraction, his weakness, his doom. If you must help him, you have to leave him" Dike's mother sounded.
"But can't anyone see through my soul? I can't hurt a fly. I can't hurt Dikem." Onwem cried the more.
Dike's mother sighed heavily. " my daughter, you are making him weak. Because of you he has become so soft. Such softness can make this kingdom vulnerable and easy to destroy by our enemies. He should have not set the king of Icho to exile because the king of Icho will now become the very nightmare this kingdom has always feared to experience. The king of Icho loved his Queen dearly but now that Queen is dead, died in the hands of soldiers led by my son. The king of Icho will come back for revenge. I can feel his pain. Yes. Deep in the forest of Itoho I can see his anguished face, his sorrowful heart and his trembling hands. Even the spirits now pity him and they will support him. My son is now in Icho, holding the princess of Abiam prisoner for your sake. My daughter. I shall give you the strength to control the sacred Odum (tiger) of Abiam Kingdom. Use her to protect yourself and escape this kingdom because war I see and war I fear"
Dike's mother fortified Onwem magically with her whole strength and Onwem became very powerful. She broke from the prison and straight she went into the forest of Abiam. There she saw the Sacred tiger and at once the tiger felt the power in her and succumbed. She took possession of her but looking up she said to herself " I shall not run any longer. I shall go to Icho and crown Dike my King and become his Queen"
She set off to Icho.
